Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Parcel Shipping Terms and Conditions:
- CM Airlines exclusively accepts, transports, and delivers shipments between airport stations or support offices in cities where our services operate. Home pickup or delivery is not included in this service.
- Our parcel service is available within Honduran territory and in countries where CM Airlines operates.
- By using our service, you agree to a contract for air cargo service that involves three parties: CM Airlines, the sender, and the recipient.
- The shipping label is the only document authorized and recognized by CM Airlines to support the air cargo service contract.
- CM Airlines thoroughly inspects package details, including the number of pieces, dimensions, weight, and the condition of the merchandise. This information is documented in the shipping label and confirmed with the sender’s signature.
- CM Airlines reserves the right to require separate shipping labels for multiple packages, or when the entire shipment cannot be accommodated on a single aircraft or within a single shipping label.
- Senders are responsible for providing the recipient’s full name, phone number, and address. Inaccurate information may result in CM Airlines rejecting the package.
- Our service fees, quoted in US dollars, are determined based on the rates published by CM Airlines on the date of service. The cost of the service is recorded in the shipping label.
- CM Airlines may apply additional charges, including storage, security, ground transportation, and handling fees, if the sender or recipient fails to meet requirements.
- The maximum volume for each package must not exceed 1 cubic meter.
- CM Airlines exclusively uses pounds as the unit of weight measurement, rounding fractions to the nearest hundredth.
- Shipping rates are calculated based on various criteria, including the type of shipment (e.g., envelopes, packages), route (origin and destination), weight in pounds, minimum authorized weight per route, volume (if applicable), special shipment characteristics (e.g., electronics), equipment rental, delivery to authorized locations outside the airport, additional service charges, and other criteria defined by CM Airlines.
- CM Airlines accepts shipments with payment either at the origin by the sender or upon delivery by the recipient. However, at our discretion, certain shipments — such as perishable or fragile items — may require payment at the origin.
- CM Airlines does not handle goods classified as dangerous or prohibited by Honduran law.
- CM Airlines is not liable for undeclared cash, checks, or cash equivalents. We reserve the right to accept or reject shipments based on our ability to transport and deliver them safely.
- The transportation of coffins with deceased bodies is only available on charter flights. CM Airlines does not transport human remains (whole bodies or body parts) on commercial flights. Additionally, we do not accept the transport of human organs, transplants, grafts, or any items requiring special logistics for preservation. However, cremated ashes may be accepted on commercial flights or as baggage, provided they are properly packaged and certified.
- All shipments are subject to space availability. CM Airlines does not offer emergency deliveries, and packages are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Perishable or fragile items will only be accepted if space is available on the same day of receipt, and the recipient can collect them within office hours. If these conditions are not met, CM Airlines will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to such items.
- Packages must be properly packaged to ensure safe transport during standard handling procedures, safeguarding against damage or harm to people, property, or other items.
- Each package must be clearly and permanently labeled with the recipient’s name and address. CM Airlines reserves the right to refuse any shipment that shows visible damage or signs of deterioration.
- All packaging will be inspected before acceptance to ensure that the shipment is free from corrosion, contamination, or any other damage.
- The sender is responsible for labeling shipments requiring special handling (e.g., directional arrows, “this side up,” “fragile,” “do not stack”).
- Shipments weighing over 100 lbs must be placed on an appropriate base or pallet for forklift handling, with any associated charges to be covered by the customer.
- CM Airlines is not responsible for any damages, losses, or reduction in value of goods during transport, storage, or delivery resulting from inadequate packaging or improper shipment conditions. Shipments made under these circumstances are transported at the sender’s sole risk.
- Any shipment not received by authorized agents and lacking the corresponding shipping label will not be considered valid.
- CM Airlines does not accept firearms for transportation as cargo.
- Conditions for transporting pets accompanying passengers are outlined in our pet transport policies.
- Any shipment violating applicable laws will be handed over to the relevant authorities without liability to CM Airlines.
- CM Airlines does not operate refrigerated aircraft. Senders are responsible for shipments requiring specific temperature conditions and accept the risks associated with such shipments.
- CM Airlines reserves the right to choose the most suitable aircraft, flight, and route for air cargo transportation.
- Deliveries will only be made to the recipient or an authorized representative via a written note or email.
- If the recipient fails to collect the shipment within three (3) days, a notification will be sent to the recipient’s phone. If unreachable, the sender will be notified. CM Airlines is not responsible for incorrect phone numbers or delayed notifications.
- The recipient must accept the shipment and collect it at the destination airport or service offices. It is the sender’s responsibility to inform the recipient in a timely manner.
- If the recipient refuses delivery or fails to collect the shipment after its arrival at the destination, and continues to avoid pickup despite notifications from either the recipient or sender, CM Airlines reserves the right to charge a storage fee based on the weight of the shipment and the number of days it remains uncollected.
- Shipments not claimed within 30 days will be considered abandoned, with no liability to CM Airlines.
- Perishable shipments must be claimed by the recipient within one hour of the flight’s arrival. If the shipment is not claimed, it is rejected at the destination. If it is at risk of deterioration for any other reason, CM Airlines may take immediate actions deemed necessary to prevent contamination, including destruction, auction, or donation of the items.
- The recipient must inspect the physical condition of the shipment upon delivery. Signing their copy of the shipping label indicates acceptance. CM Airlines will not accept claims made afterward.
- CM Airlines shall not be held responsible for any direct or indirect damage resulting from compliance with applicable laws, regulations, orders, or government requirements, nor for any cause beyond its control.
- The sender releases CM Airlines from any liability for hidden defects, fraud, or smuggling committed by the sender or the recipient.
- Liability for damages, losses, or delays is limited under the Warsaw Convention and applicable national laws.
- No agent, employee, or representative of CM Airlines has the authority to alter, modify, or waive any of the current terms or applicable laws and agreements related to the provision of air cargo services.
- These terms and conditions will be communicated to all interested parties through various channels, including the website, email, or printed materials provided upon request, especially when the request is made in writing to CM Airlines.
- The service terms will be made publicly available, and neither party may claim lack of knowledge of them.
- CM Airlines’ maximum liability will not exceed US$50.00 (fifty USD) under any circumstances.
- The national transportation contract in Honduras is governed by the provisions of the Civil Aviation Law and the Commercial Code regarding the transportation of goods.
- The shipping label is not a negotiable document, and any attempt to transfer or dispose of the rights it represents will be deemed ineffective.
- If the sender requests CM Airlines to stop the shipment and it has not yet reached its destination, the sender must provide a signed statement confirming their request to cancel the shipment and that they have received the returned package. CM Airlines retains the right to decide how and when any refund will be issued, and may charge handling fees for the return process.
- The transportation service will be considered successfully completed for the sender if, at the time of delivery, the goods at the destination are received without any objections from the recipient.
